THE PLOTS
At The Lost Plot we're lucky to work with talented growers who bring forth beautiful fruit. Our winemaker Matt works closely with the growers, most of who we've been working with since we started, to get the fruit that makes our wines.

All the plots we work with are currently in Victoria. Here's a bit about those vineyards

Box Grove Vineyards - Nagambie Lakes, Victoria
Fruit grown by the talented Sarah Gough at Box Grove Vineyard follows her philosophy of treading lightly as possible. She uses her own compost and focuses on well aerated canopy to reduce the need for sulphur and copper.
The fruit we make into our Roussanne, Rosé and Pét Nat is grown on granite soil that sits over layers of ancient river gravel in Nagambie Lakes, around 130km north of Melbourne. The fruit is grown on the traditional lands of the Taungurung people.

Three generations of the Shelmerdine family have been growing beautiful fruit in Heathcote, Victoria since the 1970s, working hard to produce sustainable, low yields for the highest quality possible.
We source the fruit for our SGM from their vineyards that top and tail the Heathcote region, around 100km north of Melbourne. The Merindoc vineyard at Tooborac, Victoria sits on decomposed granite with sandy loam, located at the cooler southern end of the Heathcote region and gives us our Syrah, while the Willoughby vineyard’s red Cambrian soil, with high levels of calcium, sits on the east facing slopes in the north of Heathcote produces our Grenache and Mourvedre fruit. The vineyards are on the traditional lands of the Taungurung people.

The Grampians
The red/brown sandy loam over medium yellow clay, with areas of sandstone, gravel, granite, sand and silt produces beautiful fruit for our Shiraz. We're lucky to work with different growers from the region who share our minimal approach to grow fruit we love to turn into our Grampians Shiraz.
The fruit is grown on the traditional lands of the Djab Wurrung and Jardwadjali people.
